Matt DeVeau provides strategic guidance, research, analysis, and support to public, private, and non-profit organizations engaged in community and economic development. He applies his skills in creative thinking, facilitation, and communication toward building prosperous, vibrant, and successful communities.

Matt was previously a Project Manager at Market Street Services, where he helped a wide variety of communities develop impactful economic development strategic plans. In this role, he built strong relationships with key community leaders and guided stakeholders through complex, multi-month engagements to identify and activate strategies to grow jobs and investment, raise levels of prosperity, and enhance quality of life. Matt led strategic planning processes in Columbus, GA: Dalton, GA; Deerfield Township, OH; Gainesville, FL; Halifax County, VA; Pearland, TX; Spartanburg, SC; Topeka, KS; and Wichita Falls, TX. Prior to joining Market Street, Matt worked for an Atlanta real estate services firm, where he supported the development of feasibility studies and highest-and-best-use analyses for a diverse blend of clients. He previously worked at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, where he provided in-depth research and analysis in support of Partnership Gwinnett, the community’s holistic community and economic development initiative.

Matt holds a Master of City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. After stops in seven states and the District of Columbia, Matt lives in Chicago with his wife, daughter, and miniature schnauzer. He is passionate about cities, sustainable transportation, and too many sports to list.
